New work soon... I swear....

Freelance work has been keeping me very busy.

Other digital work is piling up.  Hopefully I'll be posting up some new work soon.

The class that I took with schoolism.com with Mike Defeo is over - and here's the product of my labors:



I'm thinking the next step with that one will be prepping it to print and sending it out to a 3d printer.  If I do so, I'll definitely post up some pics of that as it will be the first thing I've ever had printed.


Panda is continuing on.



No change in that photo - but I have molded and cast the head.  Next up is finishing up his little tunic skirt and baking all the panda parts so I can work on his cape and sword without messing what I've already done.

Haven't updated much lately but things are going well.  Still pushing away at learning digital sculpting.  Whenever that becomes too much for my mind and hands to handle - I've been making quick fun character head sculpts.



They've definitely helped in keeping my sanity!!

I decided to make a full maquette of Po using his head sketch.  It's been coming along quite nicely.



Still a bit of cleanup to go and detailing.  Also a huge sword for his back hand, a huge cape and a hat.

Thinking I might do Grandmother Fa from Mulan into a full maquette next, her character has such life and spunk!  But her sketch will need quite an overhaul as it was never meant to be more than a sketch after all!

As for all things digital, the saga continues.  I'm now enrolled in a class online.  Even after just one class, things are making so much more sense now!!  Hopefully I'll have something wonderful to show you all at the end!!

Currently trying to learn a bit more about digital sculpting.

Zbrush was starting to make more sense so the most logial thing I could do was try learning Maya - r-i-g-h-t!!!!

So, here's the run of the few attempts to date and the various sources of the tutorials and lessons used:

Decided books might not be the thing this time, need more visuals.  So I looked around online and found Digital Tutors.  Been working out so far -



Finally getting some where!!  Next up are a few more mechanical items and then finally some organics!!  Can't wait!

Need to learn more about getting these images out of Maya, rendering and what not... these aren't the best quality.....

Hopefully soon I'll be back with my own characters done in digital and a couple of traditionally sculpted characters!
